Anyone want to buy my organ? I could use the money.Here I go. All the planning, the life changes, the single life, the purchase of a new car, the quitting of the only "job" that provides a steady stream of income, moving my belongings into storage rendering myself (in a way) homeless. It leads to Sunday March 7th when I hop into a tiny, red hatchback with fellow singer/songwriter Teresa Storch and head west.
The plan is to tour on and off for the next year until February, 2011. At which point I'll assess where I'm at and figure out where to go from there. In the meantime, I will have no real residency. I will stay with friends and family and pay them rent with beer, pizza and my smiles. When a friend isn't readily available, I will sleep in the car.
I'm off to a good start already, touring this first leg with the amazingly gifted and long-time road warrior Teresa Storch (www.myspace.com/teresastorch) who has been living this way for the last 6 years or so (although she does have a remote day job and a condo in Longmont). She has much to teach me and I am an attentive and willing student. We have 20 shows booked together in the month of March alone.

From Fort Collins, I face south, wave to Miss Colorado Springs 2.5 hours south of me and keep moving east through Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin and on to Michigan in April. May will find me in Boston, Vermont, New York, with stops in Chicago and Nebraska on the way back to Colorado Springs. Then in June after a 3 week respite, I'll head back to the west coast again.
If you're like me, you probably have friends and/or family all over the country. I rarely ask anything of you (okay, aside from "come to my shows", "watch my video", "buy my songs", etc.) but I need your help.
If you see that I'm going through the neighborhood of someone you know out there, tell them to come to my show. Tell them they have to go or you won't visit, call or even Facebook (GASP!) them anymore. Threaten them the only way you know how.
As always I CANNOT thank you enough for your support over the years. I CANNOT be successful at this without you. As much as it makes me wince to to admit I need anyone, I need you. If you like my music, please share it with as many people as possible. I don't mind if you burn what you have, file share and give it to them for free - because at this point, I don't mind losing that massive .07 cent paycheck I get from an iTunes sale (bastards) if you think one of my tunes might win over a friend. I need to be heard. I need that chance. So share, share, share.
